  3. The techniques of writing a report • 1- Leave a space before you start writing the paragraph. 2- Start with the main idea. • 3- Draw an outline for the topic you want to write about. A- Introduction (main idea) B- The body (helping ideas) C- Conclusion

The techniques of writing a dialogue or a conversation • 1- Always imagine you’re sitting face to face with the other person. • 2- The dialogue should be true to life (not only questions and answers)+( include expressions and language functions) • Aseel: What did you do yesterday? • Amal: Oh, I was so busy? After I had practised sport at the club, I went to the cinema. • Aseel: How could you go there without telling me ? • Amal: I’m so sorry. I really wanted to tell you, but there was no time.

  7. The techniques of writing a short story • A: It should include four basic parts : • 1- Characters • 2- Setting • 3- Plot • 4- The ending • B: It should have a moral lesson .

  9. Capital letters and Punctuation Marks:Capital letters are used :a- At the beginning of each new sentence.(We visited our relatives during theweekend.)B- First person singular.(My family and I will travel next month.)C- Names of people: Mona / Nora / Ali

  10. d- Countries & cities:France / London / Al-Zahra’a ……..e- Nationalities: Egyptian / Syrian / Americanf- Religions: Islam / Christianity g- Days & months: Saturday / Monday March / Aprilh- Famous places: Scientific Centre Al-Sha’ab Parki- Newspapers & magazines: Al-Watan / Al-Qabas

  11. Most common Punctuation Marks:a- Period / full stop ( . )- Used to end sentences, requests and commands.His name is Ahmed.Please make sure to tell her I’m coming.

  12. b-comma ( , )- Used before coordinating conjunctions:I like to play basketball, but my sister likes to play handball.- Used after introductory expressions such as: Yes / Well / Surely / NoYes, I’m going to attend the meeting.

  13. - Used to separate items in a series.Yesterday, I bought bread, milk, cheese from the supermarket.

  14. C- Question mark (?)-used to end direct questions, incomplete questions and expressions intended as questions.* What’s your name?*Really? When?*What about going to the cinema?
