  1. Code Enforcement Board Presentation to the Board of County Commissioners December 17, 2013

Code Enforcement Board • Has jurisdiction to hear and decide alleged violations of the codes and ordinances in force in the county • Has the authority to levy fines against those persons found in non-compliance of county codes • Subject to the inclusion of those professional specialties, each district of the county shall be represented by at least one member. Currently, Districts 1 and 4 are not represented on the board. • Meets third Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. • Financial Disclosure Required

Code Enforcement Board • Seven members appointed on the basis of experience or interest in the fields of zoning and building control • Shall include, whenever possible: • An architect • A business person • An engineer/surveyor • A general contractor • A subcontractor • A licensed real estate broker or licensed real estate salesman • The terms of two members, Ronald Hill and Rick J. Mellin, Jr., will expire December 31, 2013.

  4. Code Enforcement Board • FIRST ACTION REQUESTED: Appointment of an individual to succeed Ronald Hill on the Code Enforcement Board with a term expiring December 31, 2016.

  5. Code Enforcement Board • SECOND ACTION REQUESTED: Reappointment of Rick J. Mellin, Jr. to the Code Enforcement Board with a term expiring December 31, 2016 or appointment of an individual to succeed him.

  7. Membership and Mission Review Board • Makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning appointments to advisory boards. • Conducts sunset reviews of advisory boards. • Meets third Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Membership and Mission Review Board • Nine members: • one appointed from each of the county commission districts upon recommendation of the district commissioner; • one member appointed by the Mayor; and • two at large members appointed by the full Board of County Commissioners. • The terms of the two at large members, Evelyn S. Rivera and Ronald O. Rogers, will expire December 31, 2013.

  9. Membership and Mission Review Board • FIRST ACTION REQUESTED: Appointment of an individual to succeed Evelyn S. Rivera on the Membership and Mission Review Board with a term expiring December 31, 2015.

  10. Membership and Mission Review Board • SECOND ACTION REQUESTED: Reappointment of Ronald O. Rogers to the Membership and Mission Review Board with a term expiring December 31, 2015 or appointment of an individual to succeed him.

Planning and Zoning Commission • Reviews requests for zoning changes; establishes principles and policies for guiding the development of Orange County, and promotes orderly development along the lines indicated in the Comprehensive Plan. • Meets third Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. • Financial Disclosure Required

Planning and Zoning Commission • Nine members: • one appointed from each of the county commission districts upon recommendation of the district commissioner; • one member appointed by the Mayor; and • two at large members appointed by the full Board of County Commissioners. • The terms of the two at large members, Rev.
