Achieving Visibility • Achieving Visibility • This module aims to raise awareness of the participant to the ways in which ICT can be used to achieve visibility for a community group • This section is obligatory – every tutor must cover this section with their group • This section is expected to take 1½ hours to complete – its very short!

  6. Case Study : Mobius Project • Read about the Mobius Project – an organisation that supplies recycled computers to the community • Discuss: • Has the project achieved its aims with their website? • How have they tried to achieve each aim?

  7. Visibility Assessment • Using the worksheet, assess: • Would a website meets the needs of your organisation? • Would a website increase the visibility of your group?

  8. Why Have a Web Presence? • Visit the Craigmillar Community Website www.ccis.org.uk • State reasons why this project has a website

  9. Planning Your Website • With your project in mind, plan your website: • What information should be included in your site? • Which types of information will stimulate interaction with users? • How will this interaction be achieved?

  10. Encouraging Volunteers • Look at how PHAB have included information and activities for volunteers: www.phab.org.uk

  11. Visibility Without a Website • Without building your own, you can include your website into a third-party website www.ngflscotland.gov.uk/communities/joinin
