Summary of book • One day Cal, Toby, Scarlet, and Tara went to go see the fattest boy in the world Zachary Beaver (The Fattest boy in the world) The next day Toby and Cal went to the Library and the Librarian said he wasn’t in the books. Since Toby’s Mom went to go and become a singer every one is asking about her and at the Bowl-A-Rama Ferris, Miss Myrtie Mae, Cal Toby and Toby’s Dad were eating and Miss Myrtie Mae asked Toby if he would mow her lawn and he said yes. So when he was mowing he did it in every direction possible. Scarlet and Her boyfriend broke up Toby danced and went to her house. Toby starts to visit Zachary for company and His mom wants him to move but he says no. When Cal gets a letter from his brother that’s in the war share’s it with Toby. Toby wrote a letter to Whynn because Cal wont. Cal and Him Want to get Zachary to a movie and get him Baptized but Cal’s Brother died and It slows the whole town down. Ferris, Toby Cal, Kate, and Malcolm get him baptized. Zachary then Leaves town.

  3. Best Response What Are Toby’s Feelings? Chapter 17/18 • I think Toby’s feelings are good because he’s done nice things for Scarlet by taking her to Juan's House to make up and getting them back. Page 190/191. He also helped out Ferris with his Bowl-a-Rama and cooking so he wouldn’t have to close up page 177. Toby must be heart broking because he lat Scarlet go with Juan page 191.

  4. Second Best Response Toby and Dad • Alright they both don’t see eye to eye when it comes to activities. Toby for some reason likes to down his dad, here is an example: After his dad made the pancakes and he doesn’t cook and he said he was getting the hang of the cooking with his mom gone. Toby just said he wanted cereal, I mean show some respect.

  5. Rate the Book • I would rate the book a 7/10 because I think that people who with a story about a real event or about them self’s are okay but not great. What I did like is that is how it was sad and then how Kimberly Wills Holt put in letters and helped me understand how Whynn was and how his life was going into war and in training camp. What I didn’t like is the story was like a daily thing, you wake up, do chores, eat, go to a friends house, and trying to get a girl in the summer.
