A chemically treated paper is used which is heat sensitive. The text is printed with the help of holes which emits heat creates the graphics on the paper. Some of the printers use microcapsules which are filled with ink, these capsules burst upon impact printing the text. These can be easily identified because of their noise. They are also very slow in speed. In past few years, the use of impact printers has been reduced because of the thermal printers.
