  2. Keep several things in mind for ease of reading, • Dark background • Light text • Simple fonts and backgrounds • Large text size (no less than 24pt) • Not too much info on each slide

  4. Reminder: • Turn off your screen saver. • Sign out of all “chat” applications (AOL, Yahoo, etc.) before you start your presentation. They will pop up in the corner.

  5. Warning: Large audio files can make your slideshow delay or even freeze your computer. Warning: Powerpoint is not always the best application for a slideshow of over 40 pictures. Contact ITS Media for more information. Importing objects and sounds

  8. Addings images Try to use JPG images when you can for best results and maximum compatibility--they can be smaller sizes than TIFs.

  9. Adding video clips (Mac) • If you are creating and playing your presentation on a Mac, use QuickTime .mov video clips • Select “Insert, Movies and Sounds, Movie from File • Browse for your movie clip and select it • Clips that are 640x480 work best

  10. Adding video clips (Windows) • If you are creating and playing your presentation on a Windows computer, use .avi video clips • Select “Insert, Movies and Sounds, Movie from File • Browse for your movie clip and select it • Clips that are 640x480 work best

  11. Tables: keep information to a minimum

  12. Graphs: limit information to maintain readability • Pizzas consumed by service departments each quarter. Note that summer falls in the 3rd quarter.

  13. Communication received by ITS Media staff members in an average week.

  14. Does your DJ have all his own equipment? • ….or do you need to talk with Sarah about additional gear for your dance?

  15. It’s always nice to have a blank slide at the beginning and end of your slide show so that it does not immediately go to black.
