Introducción: • Son tejidos conjuntivos adultos y de sostén, con propiedades físicas particulares que se adaptan a su función. • Poseen células y matriz extracelular constituída por fibras conjuntivas y agrecanes de glucosaminoglucanos (GAG’s)y proteoglucanos. • En el cartílago, las fibras colágenas le dan la resistencia y los agregados de macromoléculas le brindan la turgencia y flexibilidad. • En el hueso, la matriz extracelular está calcificada lo que le proporciona rigidez. • La nutrición del cartílago es por imbibición de su matriz a partir de los vasos sanguíneos ubicados en el pericondrio, es avascular, aneural y alinfático. • La nutrición del hueso es a partir de un sistema canalicular y lacunar que se disponen en las cercanías de los vasos sanguíneos.
