The Burden of Government & Inter-Governmental Relations • Govt. will absorb much of the available skilled labour • Dense mass of intergovernmental relations and of other relations (recall FNC, Ch. 14, p. 375 – the faces and interfaces of self-government) e.g., must relate to: various departments of municipal and country governments; federal and provincial governments; other local ab. govts; a ‘supra’-level ab. govt; consultants; developers; multinational corporations; and own constituents Hence, there will be a heavy burden of govt & not a good mix of govt & private firms
