  15. SHPE Foundation The SHPE Foundation is dedicated to providing scholarship funds to education support systems for engineering and science students of Hispanic backgrounds. The goal of the SHPE Foundation is to support the increase of the number of Hispanics into the fields of engineering and science. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

SHPE Foundation (cont.) • First scholarships awarded in 1978 (11 students - $3,350) • 5,071 scholarships awarded to date • $5,146,900 - total amount awarded • Grants range from $500 - $7,000 • Graduate Fellowship Program • six graduate students receive $5,000 each to pursue a graduate degree • $7,000 awarded to top doctoral candidate Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
