Work on SDG implementation • Establish domestic inter-agency coordination mechanism: comprises 43 line ministries • Present First Voluntary National Review • Formulate National Plan on Implementation of the 2030 Agenda • Release China’s Progress Report on Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

  5. Work on SDG implementation • NBS: — Member of domestic inter-agency coordination mechanism — Member of IAEG-SDGs representing East Asian subregion: participates in the consultation and implementation on SDG global indicator framework

  6. Challenges and Opportunities SDG monitoring: main challenges • Data gap Assessment on data availability: around 35% • Coordination mechanism — International:reporting mechanism between CA and national FP — National:responsibility of line ministries at indicator level

Challenges and Opportunities Opportunities: • Assign the responsibility, promote the improvement of data reporting mechanisms • Localize the SDG monitoring framework • Improve existing surveys, widen and explore new data sources and tools to match the new need • Strengthen the statistical capacity building

Practice Sharing • Deqing’s progress report on implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Based on the global indicator framework and Deqing’s reality, using 102 quantitative indicators which combined statistical and geospatial information data, evaluated 16 goals • 2018 China SDGs Indicators and Progress Assessment Report Construct a list of localized SDG indicators consisting of 163 indicators, of which 123 indicators have been evaluated quantitatively on the progress made
