  6. Guiding Questions • Read through pages 48-50. What mood does the author create in this scene? (use specific page references) • What sensory details does he provide that contribute to the mood you identified? (Use page numbers) • Why do you think the author wants you to feel that way? (be specific) • What impact did this scene have on Tim? (Use textual evidence) • What is the major conflict on pages 54-57? How has the relationship between Sam and Tim shifted? Do you think Tim would have shot Sam if he had the chance to save his father? Why/Why not? • P. 58 Tim says, “Your family ought to be more important than your friends” Do you agree or disagree with Tim? Why? • What are the primary reasons for fighting against the British?
