For two years, during siesta time Fr. Rossa went to Makati (St. Paul office) just to check two or three pages of the lay-out. Computers were not yet available then.

The printing process • was a one-man’s job: looking for: • good Manuscripts • finding Translators • Copy-editors • Printing • Distribution • Sales • Payment … He went around Manila in a motorcycle in search for editors for the first manuscripts
St Paul press evaluated the first manuscripts of Pastoral Exchanges Seriesand believing in the value of the books agreed to a “print now – pay later” arrangement. The First Book Published (1982) The Spirituality of Evangelization
Claretian Publications started with absolutely no budget at all!
…St. Paul press could not copewith the volume(demand was high for fast delivery, low-priced and reasonable credit terms!).We were “advised” to start our own press.

The work began on promoting a sound liberation theology and a new model for the Church through publishing. “We are publishing books even for readers without theology background”
Claretian Publications pursue its mission through its grassroots-directed, expanded multi-media thrust,with a staff supportcoming from various professions and contributing a variety of skills.
In 1985, we created the Bible Diary • It was printed in our own press. Since then, the idea caught fire with other publishers in the Philippines and abroad.
And now Bible Diary is in its 22nd year. Commentaries for 2007 are already finished. • Editions are now in different languages and there are many other versions around.
With the arrival of Fr. Bernardo Hurault, a French diocesan priest,in 1986, the project of anEnglish Pastoral Biblebegun.
The Christian Community Bible first published in 1988 and blessed personally by Pope John Paul II.
Translations in other languages followed: In Vernacular Filipino Languages and Foreign Languages
Ingeniously provides grassroots and liberational perspective to the Scriptures • It has adapted to Third-World realities and usable by other denominations.
It has been subjected to rigid scrutiny by experts in the USA, Australia, India and many parts in Europe • Now it has been adopted as Textbook supplement for Christian Living Education Classes by most catholic schools and university nationwide!
