  3. FMP Highlights: Sport Fish Monitoring • Generating LOTS of good information on mercury content of fish

  4. 2005 • Focus on the South Delta and San Joaquin • 1600 fish from 43 sites, coordinated with 23 more • Largemouth bass shown

  5. 2006 • Focus on the North Delta and Sacramento • 1400 fish from 47 sites, coordinated with 5 more

  6. 2007 • Focus on San Joaquin tributaries and reservoirs • 28 locations • Sampling completed in September

Beyond the FMP • Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP): Bioaccumulation Monitoring • State Water Board • Approx $1 million per year (tentative) • Primarily sport fish • 2007 and 2008: Statewide lakes survey • 200 popular lakes • 50 random lakes • Mercury and other pollutants • Reports later this year on 2007 sampling
