  7. Combination MachinesLKP Elite • Automatic Code & Duplicator • Cuts both standard “edge cut” and high security “sidewinder” keys • Includes touch screen software & tablet • One vise holds almost all keys; Tibbe vise additional • Ideal for dealerships now faced with cutting high security type keys

  8. Traces / Decodes Edge Cut And High Security Keys • The new “Elite” model now incorporates a built-in tracing adapter for edge cut keys. • High security keys can also be decoded using the tracer tip on the right side of the machine.

  9. Self-Calibrating • The Elite will calibrate itself automatically, simply follow instructions in the program to set the machine up properly.

  10. Self-Calibration • Jaws (edge cut and high security) are calibrated in different ways. Procedures are detailed in the manual and software.

  11. Software • The Elite includes a touch screen tablet with software already loaded. It is designed by LKP and references Framon’s Gcode data files to look up key codes.

  12. Software • You may also elect to control the machine with our Genericode program. This is the same program many reps are already familiar with if they have sold Autocode machines.

  13. Troubleshooting • There are a few things we ask that you keep in mind when calling for tech support – your best chance for a successful resolution will depend on the following: • The customer should call for assistance directly to us. Calling you, then you calling us and trying to relate his problem rarely works out. • Please get a WiFi connection for the tablet and keep it connected all the time. Tech support is easiest when we can access the computer remotely.

  14. Troubleshooting • Please read the manual and have your customer read the manual. Key blanks are expensive and miscuts lead to frustration for everyone involved. Miscutting keys because the user is not familiar with the machine is easily avoidable. • Have the computer turned on (not starting up) when you call, and if WiFi is available have TeamViewer running & an access code on the screen. • TeamViewer should already be installed on the table with an icon on the desktop.

  15. Genericode – Code Software • Complete key code software package • Thousands of code series, over 8,000,000 codes • Gives machine info for all popular machines; sends cutting information to Framon and Laser Key Products machines

  16. Genericode – Setup Application Setup Screen • Enter company information for printouts • Enter default preferences for key blank display, key machine type, UOM, automatic updates, etc.

  17. Genericode – Code Search Code Number Search • Basic code search function of Gcode • Enter code number • Click search & view results • Quickest way to get to cutting information if you already know the key blank number

  18. Genericode – Data Screen View Key Data Screen • Shows cuts on key • Also displays depths, spaces, and other key cutting information • Graphical representation of cut key

  19. Genericode – Vehicle Section Vehicle Section • Enter year, make and model • Gcode displays the code series associated with the vehicle • Enter a code number if known (Code to Cuts) • Enter partial cuts if known (Cuts to Code) • View tumbler information (Tumbler) • Shows transponder programming information if known (Transponder) • View car opening info (Opening Info) • Also shows VATS key resistance listing and VIN information

  20. Genericode – Car Opening Car Opening Information • Shows basic car opening information • If code location or pick direction is known it is displayed • Shows linkage and tool to use

  21. Genericode – Vehicle Transponder & Tumbler Information • Basic instructions for adding duplicate or originating a new key • Tumbler positions shows for each lock on the vehicle

  22. Genericode – Key Blank Cross Reference Key Blank X-Ref • Gcode includes a full key blank cross reference program • Enter the blank type and number • Click “Search” and Gcode displays known information for up to 24 key blank companies

  24. Genericode – Key Machine Setup Screens Key Machine Interface • Gcode sends cutting information to Framon & LKP key machines • When selected, each machine will have its’ own interface to adjust settings if needed • FRA-2001 shown here

  25. Genericode – Xtreme / 3-D Pro Interface Key Machine Interface • LKP interface for cutting a key • Shows cutter & jaw graphics • Can cut or trace a key from this screen • Gcode allows you to calibrate, trace, originate and move carriage

  26. Genericode – Saving Previously Cut Keys History Feature • After viewing a key code, you can add the key to the “History” database • Click the “History” button at a later time to pull the key information up

  27. Code Cutting Basics • Basic terminology when describing keys • Relates to how keys operate and touches on basic cutting methods • Helps us when your keys don’t work!

  28. Measuring Keys • When keys do not work a pair of calipers or a micrometer is the only accurate way to determine what adjustments might need to be made, if any.

  29. Measuring Keys • When you suspect a problem with the machine, you first need to know where the problem is. Depth or spacing? • Since machines rarely go from working smoothly to simply not working, get a test cylinder out and cut a key for it. • If the key is cut too shallow you should see dimples at the root of the cut. Your spacing is correct if these marks are centered in the cut. • Keys cut too shallow typically turn tight. • Keys cut too deep usually click when turned. • Spacing is the culprit if the key works better when you pull it out slightly. • Although you can adjust a machine without calipers they assure the machine is set correctly.

  30. Measuring Keys • In this example we are measuring the depth of cut, which shows .245”, right on for a Schlage key.

  31. Measuring Keys • Calipers are handy as they can assist in measuring spacing as well. It is more difficult to measure spacing as there are no positive stops, we have to do a bit of eyeballing.

  32. Framon – Laser Key Products Partnership • In 2013 Framon and LKP formed a partnership to further market their line of automatic key machines • Framon currently manufactures some parts for the Elite and machines are assembled in Houston, Texas
