  1. Test beam update

  2. Test beam meeting at H2 beam line • Responsible persons • Dragoslav Lazik- tel. 164051 (H2 responsible) • Pascal Petiot - tel. 163129 (magnet responsible) • Discussed: • Magnet availability, operation, fixation inside… • Beam availability, control room, cabling, signals, beam line area, gas issues

  3. Magnet availability, operation, fixation inside… • Work on cryogenics is going on. Laza pushed technicians to make it ready by 28th- difficult but possible and it should be OK. • Pascal promised help with fixation inside of the magnet- we have to provide a drawing and they will prepare fixation (see explanation on page 7). • Laza promised to make Web page with all information concerning the beam line and filed maps nearest days. Preliminary: filed is uniform within ~30*30*30 cm3 , counters can be placed in ~3m from the magnet • Control room for the magnet is on the ground flour (~30 m down stream)

  4. 2. Beam availability, control room, cabling, signals, beam line area, gas issues…. • Our control room HNA 380 (see photo) Laza promised to arrange beam signals and counter signals (4*4 cm) from room 370 (CMS CR upstream). • Beam control room is 390 (next to us downstream) • Beam will go though air (no vacuum pipe) may be over distance >50 m • Beam area will be available till 30th of April but also in access mode till 6th of May • The same area will be used by CALIS group till 20th of May but without field. • Staring from 20th of May the main user is CMS Calo which is far upstream and we can install our detectors and start tuning the things . • There will be only 1 MD period which can be used for installation. That is 24 hours starting from 8:00 23rd of May (We.). That is the best time to make all installation work and start tuning the detectors using parasitic muons. • We also can gain some experience using Magnetic field. Quite many things needs to be and checked efore data taking.

  5. 2. Beam availability, control room, cabling, signals, beam line area, gas issues…. (continue) • Gas distribution panels are close to our area and there is an exhaust collector, which we can use (length for the pipes is ~ 20-30 m) • Central distribution of gases provides Ar, CO2, and N2 • Because of the work needed to control the beam ID counters the trigger electronics has to be placed in the Control Room 380. This means that we will have fast trigger from SiPM going directly to the TimePix but conformation we shell expect in about 300 ns after (is it critical?). • Some electronics for SiPM trigger counter (amplifier + discriminator) shell be placed very close to the counter (in the magnetic fields) – a special arrangement shell be foreseen for this.
