  2. Air tightness, sound insulation and ventilation testing are requirements under the current UK building regulations for new properties. Building testing is an effective way to improve the performance of any building, by reducing waste energy and improving quality of life. https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk

  3. Types Of Building Testing • Domestic Air Tightness Testing • SmokeTesting • Commercial Air Tightness Testing • VentilationTestingandCommissioning • Sound Insulation Testing https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk

  4. Domestic Air Tightness Testing Building regulations requires that new dwellings are subject to an air tightness test to comply with Building Regulations Approved Document Part L. This is to ensure that they comply with CO2 Carbon Emissions policy and to minimise unnecessary heat loss to reduce the cost of running. https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk

  5. Smoke Testing One of the key advantages of the air test is the opportunity to distinguish areas of air leakage. However, in some dwellings/commercial buildings, there may be areas which can’t be reached and this is when a smoke machine is used. By keeping the fan in operation and discharging the smoke, the smoke will be forced out the building, throughout all the leakage points. https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk

  6. Commercial Air Tightness Testing Building Regulations require that new commercial building over 500 m² are subject to an air tightness test to comply with Building regulations Approved Document Part L. Our trained and experienced engineers will guide you through this process and ensure that you have the best possible chance of passing first time. https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk

  7. Ventilation Testing and Commissioning Ventilation testing in dwellings includes checking trickle vents and testing extract fans to ensure compliance with “Approved Document F of Building Regulations for England and Wales – Ventilation” Buildings are required to have some form of ventilation installed and these units can differ by system type, size and extract rate. Under Building Regulations Part E all extracts in a dwelling are required to be tested and must achieve a target extract rate. https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk

  8. Sound Insulation Testing Building Regulations requires that dwellings are sound tested before completion (pre-completion testing) to demonstrate suitable sound insulation, in compliance with "Approved Document E of the Building Regulations for England and Wales – Resistance to the Passage of Sound." We operate throughout the UK and, providing we have all the information in place before testing, we can tell you how your test performed straight away. https://www.ashbyenergy.co.uk
