  2. Local Anti-passback • Anti-passback prevents someone from accessing a secure door and then passing his/her card back to someone else to use • This is done by implementing rules on how often cards can be presented to readers • When necessary, these rules can be manually overridden

  3. Anti-Passback (APB) • Once a user has entered an area through an APB secure entry door, the system will not allow the same user to enter through the same door unless APB conditions are met • User has exited through an APB exit door • APB amnesty timeout period has passed • APB amnesty has been manually granted by an operator

  4. Enable Local Anti-passback • Click the APB ON check box to enable anti-passback

  5. Select Anti-passback Type • Click the desired radio button to select the type of anti-passback amnesty to apply

  6. None Anti-passback Amnesty • None – never grant automated global amnesty

  7. Time of Day Anti-passback Amnesty • Grants amnesty to all users once a day • Enter the desired Time of Day to grant amnesty • Time is based on a 24-hour clock: • Midnight is entered as 00:00 • 8:30 A.M. is entered as 08:30 • 6:00 P.M. is entered as 18:00 • 11:30 P.M. is entered as 23:30

  8. Intervals Anti-passback Amnesty • Grants amnesty to users periodically • Enter the desired Interval in which to grant amnesty • The default value grants amnesty every 15 minutes

  9. Enable APB at Controller • Once APB rules are set, individual controllers must be selected to which these rules should be applied • Click on the Controllers Tab • Scroll through the list of controllers and select those to which Local APB should be applied

  10. Manual APB Amnesty • There are times when APB amnesty needs to be granted immediately • This can be done for one specific user, or for all users

  11. Open the APB Amnesty Window • Select the Operate > Amnesty pull-down menu option1 1. The Operate > Amnesty pull-down menu option only appears if APB has been enabled in Setup > Doors > Options.

  12. Types of APB Amnesty • Selected Amnesty – for one specific user • Global Amnesty – system-wide for all users

  13. Sorting Users for Selected Amnesty • Sort users to help locate a specific user • Select the column to sort • Click the button • Users are now sorted in ascending order

  14. Select a Specific User • Scroll through the list of users • Click in the row of the user to whom to grant amnesty

  15. Grant Selected Amnesty • Click the button • Amnesty is granted to the selected user

  16. Grant Global Amnesty • Click the button • Amnesty is granted to all users at all controllers
