  1. Bahrain's Maternity Leave Procedure A female employee who lives in Bahrain and provides a medical certificate attested by a government health facility or one of the clinics the employer has approved stating the expected date of her pregnancy is entitled to 60 days of paid maternity leave in Bahrain, which includes the time before and after giving birth. While on maternity leave, the Bahraini employee's pay and benefit policies won't change. A female employee may also take up to six months of unpaid leave each year and three times during the course of her work to care for a child under the age of six. A female worker is entitled to two one-hour breaks following her maternity leave and up until her child is six months old. Sessions for her child to be breastfed. Additionally, she is entitled to two 30-minute periods of care up until her child turns one. The combination of these two periods by a female employee will count against her working hours without having any bearing on her compensation. The demands of the female employee and the interests of the company must be taken into consideration by the employer when determining the duration of the aforementioned period of care.
