Nickname, Region in the U.S, Capital City, Major cities and population • The Nickname of Arizona is The Grand Canyon State. • Arizona is located in the southwest region of the U.S. • Arizona’s capital is Phoenix. • Some major cities in Arizona are Tuscan, Mesa, and Chandler. • The population is 6,392,017 people.

  3. State flag, State bird, and State tree • Arizona's state bird is a cactus wren. • The state tree is paloverde. • This is Arizona's flag.

  4. Current governor and State senators • Arizona’s state governor is Jan Brewer. • The political party is Republican. • The current senators are Jeff Blake and John McCain.
