Headlines Key Features of the 2005 Pay Agreement: • An above inflation basic pay rise, with flow-through to overtime and allowances • Substantial improvements to Scheduled Attendance • Substantial improvements to LGV allowance • Improvements to London Weighting, RRIS • A new incentive scheme for Cash Centre and Admin employees • A review of the employment package for all NSS employees

Basic Pay (1) • Inflation is currently at a relatively high level – RPI has been 3.2% for the past three months • Most forecasters predict that RPI will fall to around 2.4% by the end of the current financial year • An above inflation basic pay rise of 3.25% has been agreed, for all grades, payable from 1st April 2005 • This increase will apply to overtime and allowances, including the Revision Two payment

  5. Substantial Increases to Scheduled Attendance Payments for CIT Crew

LGV Allowance • As part of the agreement there will be substantial improvements to the daily and weekly LGV allowances – in excess of 3.25%: • Daily LGV Allowance will increase from £4.51/day to £5.50/day – an increase of 22.0%. • Weekly LGV allowance will increase from £22.78/week to £28.00/week – an increase of 22.9%.

London Weighting • Following the 2004 Pay & Major Change Agreement it was agreed that Inner and Outer London Weighting should be increased by £100 from 1st April 2005 • This year’s pay agreement has secured a further £100 increase in both Inner and Outer London Weighting • The effect of these changes is shown below

  8. RRIS • All RRIS payments will be uprated by 3.25%

RRIS • In addition, 3 depots – Oxford, Reading and Guildford – will receive additional allowance increases to bring them into line with the current Royal Mail RRIS payments • Employees in these three depots will each receive £35pw RRIS payments – an overall increase of 40% for the Reading and Oxford depots

Employment Package Review • In the coming months, there will be an all-embracing joint review of the employment package for CIT and Cash Centre employees • The review will take into full account the effects of the Working Time Directive • The review will take place over 6 months • Terms of Reference for the review will be agreed by the end of May 2005

  11. Cash Centre/Admin Bonus Scheme • A new incentive scheme will be introduced for all Cash Centre and Admin Employees • A payment of £200 per employee will be made on achievement of POL’s 2005/6 profit target (pro-rata for part-time employees)

  12. Next Steps • The next steps in relation to the Agreement are as follows: • Ballot Papers Issued: Friday 6th May • Ballot Closes: Friday 20th May • Pay Agreement Implemented: End of May Pay Postal Executive members are available to hold membership Meetings where requested
