  1. Find Out Bed Bugs & RemovalGuide

  2. Introduction Bed bugs can be quite easy to miss if you don't know what signs to look for. They are very common in hotel rooms where people are often using the same sheets but it's also possible to get them in your home. If you're worried that the bed you're sleeping in may contain bed bugs then below are some reliable ways to spot them -

  3. Check Around The Mattress For Blood Stains & Excrement Spots One of the biggest telltale signs of bed bugs is bloodstains on the sheets and mattress. You should pull the sheets up and inspect all around the mattress, including the creases and seams. Adult bed bugs are much easier to spot than baby bed bugs since they're larger and darker in colour. You should get a flashlight and look all round the mattress for the bugs themselves and any bloodstains or excrement spots.

  4. Check Underneath The Bed Frame It's very possible to have bed bugs without them being visible on the mattress at all. Since they like the texture of wood, bed bugs will often stay underneath the bed itself and only surface at night when they need to feed. You should flip over the bed and check all around the frame for any appearance of bed bugs.

  5. Check The Headboard Often, bed bugs will stay behind the headboard so they're able to remain in a spot without being disturbed. For this reason you should always check all around the headboard, including behind it. Again, use a flashlight to make them easier to spot. If you're staying in a hotel room and spot bed bugs around the headboard then inform the staff immediately.

  6. Check Any Coat Racks Although they're called bed bugs, they can actually infest other places such as clothing in your luggage. This means that you should always inspect any coat racks before packing your luggage away when traveling as it's very easy to spread bed bugs without realizing it.

  7. How to Remove Bed Bugs Once you have established that bed bugs are present, you'll certainly want to get rid of them immediately. How you go about doing this will depend on where you're staying. If you're staying in a hotel, B&B or any other establishment that you're not responsible for then you should inform the owners immediately and they'll be able to take care of the problem. If you notice bed bugs in your home then you should hire a pest control company to come out and they'll be able to get rid of any existing bed bugs as well as ensuring they don't come back. They'll also be able to let you know about any preventative measures that you should take in future.
