  4. Klaipeda - an Ice-Free Port in the Baltic Sea Region Klaipeda – Lithuania’s only port and its largest transport center. Klaipeda is a multipurpose deep-water port which provides all maritime related services. Annual capacity: 52 million tons of cargo. The port can accommodate vessels up to 315 m in length and with a maximum draught of 13.5 m.

  16. Expanding Sights (1) Waterfront Development Project SEAGATE Waterfront project SEAGATE, located on the Dane River estuary. In the territory of the former ship repair yard near historical downtown Klaipeda, the waterfront is being reconstructed to preserve the maritime heritage, and to offer entertainment and leisure activities for visitors.

The territory of the former ship repair yard will be reconstructed to offer outstanding business and residential facilities, and a large variety of entertainment ventures.

  18. Developing Infrastructure The Cruise Vessel Terminal is in the heart of the city. The Cruise Vessel Terminal covers an area of 1.2 ha and is located about 100 m from the city centre. Vessels with the length of 315 m and the draught of 8.5 m are able to moor at the terminal.

  19. Reducing Port Charges Striving to further develop cruise shipping in the port, the regulations on Klaipeda Port Dues has been reduced 3 times in a row. According to the amendments, port dues for cruise vessels larger than 50,000 GT (Gross Tonnage) are calculated on the rate of 50,000 GT, and a 20 % discount on port dues are granted from the second call of each year.

  20. Improving Services A new Passenger and Cargo Terminal is under construction in the central part of the city. It will be completed in the end of 2013. The new terminal will expand to accommodate all cruise vessels calling at the port and will guarantee the highest quality of services for passengers.
