  2. Analyze

  3. Floodplains The worst floodplain scenario would have to be the Major River floodplain, because of how long the flooding lasts. Best Floodplain to Worst Floodplain -Shallow Floodplain, Valley Floodplain, Coastal Floodplain, and Major River Floodplain Shallow Floodplain would have to be the best, because it’s the quickest, and to me the most harmless. Valley Floodplain being the next best because it last a little longer, usually only a few days. Coastal Floodplain being next from worst because it has long term effects, and Major River Floodplain being the worst because it can last up to a week or more.

  4. Flooding Data

  5. Hurricane Data

  6. Fault Data The majority of the possible campuses don’t have a high possibility of damage, but the possible damage that could occur would be towards the buildings or other upright structure. Worst to Best - 650 Oats Rd., Houston, TX - 12328 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, TX - 1400 Travis St., Houston, TX - 12688 FM 1960, Huffman, TX - 29608 Liberty Ln., Tomball, TX 650 Oats Rd., Houston, TX being the worst because it’s sitting right on top of multiple faults, 12328 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, TX being next because it’s close to several faults, then1400 Travis St., Houston, TX, then 1400 Travis St., Houston, TX since it’s relatively close to an affected area, 12688 FM 1960, Huffman, TX second to last because of the one little fault around the area, and 29608 Liberty Ln., Tomball, TX being last because of no faults in site.

  7. Crime Data and Land Prices • Crime data will affect the recruitment of future students by making the possible students wary of attending the school because of possible muggings, rapes, etc. • Land prices can also turn away students because if the land price is high, then in result, the tuition will also be increased. • They would respond by beefing up security on campus if the area has a high crime rate. And possibly they would cut corners on other parts of the campus to lower tuition if high tuition was the case.

  8. Other Sources of Information

  9. Conclusion • Land prices, Crime data, Watersheds, Hurricane storm surge and potential damage, and Fault data and mechanical weathering. • Land prices can influence the cost to go the school, and if you’re aren’t able to have students afford to go, then the university will fail. Second, if students don’t feel safe going to the school, then they won’t want to go to that institute. Then, watersheds, because if it’s always flooding, then that’ll effect the peoples commute to and from class. Also hurricane storm surge and potential damage next because the school could be damaged that way. Lastly fault data and mechanical weathering because that could also show the potential damage that might be brought upon the university.

  13. Where did I put it? I put it at the location of 12688 FM 1960, Huffman, TX, based on the information I concluded that this choice would be the best out off them all because of the low land price, and the low crime rate, which in my eyes were some of the most important factors when deciding which area to choose.
