Fourth Graders • changes in uniform, upstairs now, changing classes • more independent • A general rule - Encourage their independence and responsibility -don’t bring things to school they’ve forgotten, don’t over-help. We appreciate you not coming to the classroom after hours to get books they forgot to bring home.

  4. Homework/Communication • 20 minute rule • alternate assignment • Sign planner each night • Email is the best way to contact us • Please do your best to make sure your child knows how they are getting home.

  5. Reminder • Labeling • Being on Time • Dismissal Changes – Notes from both families • Notes for Absences, Lateness, Early Dismissals (not between 2:30-3:00), Uniforms • Dismissal/Phone Calls – make sure your child knows how to get home/back up plan for inclement weather.

  6. Helpful Hints • Fourth Grade Handbook on Fourth Grade Web site • Look for everything on the Fourth Grade Web site first. • School Bags • Food allergies

  7. Mathematics • Online: progressinmathematics.com, math links • Stocks project • Know their facts [There’s an app for that!] • Quizzes and tests

  8. Religion • Beatitudes, Ten Commandments, liturgical seasons, stories from the OT • Teach mindful of all students’ faith background, but teach Catholicism • Little homework • Tests and projects

  9. Outreach Projects • Focus on service • Bethesda Project • Donations and creations • HOPE lunches • Need help – parent volunteers and drivers.
