  3. Mission Statement It is my mission to convey my passion for teaching upon my students in order to make them life long learners. I will provide the highest quality of education to my students in order to ensure academic success. Motivation, compassion and inspiration are the foundations to my teaching strategy. It is with great honor that I have chosen the field of education as a profession, which will not only afford a sense of pride to myself, but to the students in which I intend to educate.

Teaching Philosophy • Create a positive learning environment which fosters educational growth • Allow for self-expression by way of constructive classroom discussion • Provide a safe environment which promotes learning amongst all students • Teach respect by way of example in order to value such in a school setting and mainstream into society • Provide various methods of instruction in order to allow for successful learning

StudentGoals • Students will utilize critical thinking skills • Students will allow creativity and curiosity to be a part of the learning process • Students will learn how to be an independent worker, as well as a productive group worker • Students will learn to set realistic goals for themselvesand how to achieve their goals • Students will learn the value of respect for themselves, as well as for others

  6. ClassroomRules • Show respect for personal space, rights and property of other’s • Be polite, courteous and respectful at all times • Raise hand before speaking • Ask permission before leaving the classroom • Come to class prepared to learn

  7. Classroom Rules • Listen carefully and follow directions • Do not interrupt when other’s are speaking • Use manners when speaking to another classmate or teacher • Always do your personal best

  8. Disciplinary Measures • Remain calm at all times • Use verbal and non-verbal cues to gain attention of student without disrupting classmates • Speak courteously to the student which desires attention privately • Remind of classroom rules and procedures • Remove student from classroom if behavior is disruptive to other students

  9. Developing Students Social Skills • Teach students the value of friendship • Promote teamwork as it is the foundation of a successful future • Develop peer mediator teams in order to promote communication amongst students • Encourage positive communication between students • Teach students to use active listening skills in order to show respect for another fellow student

  10. My Contribution to the Overall Climate of the School • Demonstrate teamwork with all employees of my school • Provide leadership skills which will set an example to all students • Respect the opinions of all who express concern regarding the school environment • Active involvement in committees which will improve the overall success of our school, our community and our students
