  1. SIGN ALERT By: Eddie Lorenzo, Alfonso Mares, Matt Misetich, Josue Vasquez

  2. The problem is that with age comes weak and unclear eyesight which can lead to you not being able to read important signage on freeways as well as surface streets. Also signs are not always visible for those who have problem free eyesight. Some signs are not manufacturer correctly and are not durable as they should be in different weather elements or reflective doing hours where headlights maybe needed to aid in lighting the road as well as signage with important information for all drivers . Problem?

  3. Visibility • Reflective Boarder • Reflective Outline • Letters • Arrows • Symbols • Durability • Letters fall off • Reflective dots fall off

  4. Vision • Impairment • Eye sight • Glare • Reflection • Mirrors • Shiny objects • Vision blocked • Sign • SUV/ Truck • Semi

  5. Vision of Old Drivers • 26.2 million drivers are 65 or older • 2014 around 33.7 million drivers will be 65 or older • 13 years light to see in dark conditions or angles doubles

  6. Retro reflectivity • Return light to towards the area it is coming from • low-light and nighttime condition • knowing the angle at which the driver views • the sign is created to also withstand the erosive UV lights produced from the Sun • Protects against elements in areas with multiple effects of the four seasons

  7. DEATH & Injury • Vehicular Fatalities • 106333 fatalities a year • Tens of millions injured each year • Most probable to be in accident • Pedestrians • Children • Cyclists • Motorcyclists • Elderly

  8. Why is 3-dimensional better • Three dimensional is better and more efficient because it reflex’s the image more and the visibility increases a lot. • For elderly people it is going to improve there visibility by 40% . • Drivers speeding fast will quickly re act to the glare of the 3-D words • Drivers reacting fast to the glare will decrease totals by at least 45% is the driver is watching the road
