SKIES • SKIES is an evolving application. • It will never be finished.
SKIES uses a central data repository that allows cooperating agencies to work together for the betterment of employers and jobseekers.
The information is stored on servers in Olympia. • Each SKIES user can interact with the information from anywhere in Washington via the Internet.

SKIES collects and displays confidential information of thousands of employers, providers and job seekers.
Interaction with SKIESis over the Internet • It uses a special security method called “secure sockets layer (SSL)” to prevent interception by normal hackers. • Each user has a secret password.
SKIES Security • Disclosure of this confidential information is against the law, with a possible personal penalty of $5,000 per incident. (RCW 50.13) Additional penalties are authorized. • You are personally responsible for all actions performed by any computer that is logged in under your account. • Each action is logged, recording the user’s login ID.
Protect yourselfand SKIES information • Lock your monitor or log out of SKIES when leaving your computer. • Don’t leave the information of others on your screen when meeting with someone in your office. • Don’t share your login and password with a co-worker or anyone else. • Certainly don’t leave it lying around or on a ‘post-it’ note, etc.

Qualifications for every SKIES user • Is currently an employee of a SKIES-qualified organization which… • Has signed a Memorandum of Understanding or • Is under a service contract with the local WDC. • Has signed a SKIES Data Sharing Agreement.
Qualifications for every SKIES user • Has completed SKIES training (on all user features). • Has signed an Notice of Non-Disclosure.
SKIES Security Roles • Each SKIES user account is assigned one or more security roles by Management. • A role limits the effect one may have on SKIES data. • If the role(s) assigned to you inhibits your work, immediately notify your Supervisor.
