A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s SubFinder Absence Reporting For School-Based Staff • All absences must be reported even if a sub is not needed • All school-based personnel need to report their absences through SubFinder (not temporary employees) • Absences should be reported as soon as possible. If less than 1 hour before job start time, please contact Sub Coordinator, Mel Allbright (480) 783-4006 • Only report your work hours. The system defaults to a full school day. If you are not a full time employee, specify your work hours. • Absences must comply with Meet and Confer. Restricted day absences must be approved in writing and in advance. • Support staff also must report absences through iVisions. • Questions? Contact Mel Allbright at x 4006 or mallbright@kyrene.org

A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Mandatory Trainings • Federal and State laws require that school district employees be trained on topics related to their employment and on subjects related to working with students.  The Kyrene School District is pleased to offer this training online for you to access by computer. • Mandatory Training Modules cover important workplace issues such as Sexual Harassment, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting, Bullying, and Bloodborne Pathogens, among others • Employee trainings are accessed through the iVisions Portal • 5 to10 minutes to complete each module • Training Modules are completed by all employees annually during regular work hours

A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Leave of Absence • For any absence exceeding five consecutive work days you must contact Human Resources to inquire about an authorized Leave of Absence. • In order to prevent being “absent without leave” under Policy, you should also request a Leave of Absence if: • You do not accrue ACA in your position; • You have exhausted all accrued ACA; or • You do not have a sufficient ACA balance to cover the leave period • For information online:Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) • To review and print the online:Request for Leave Packet • If you have questions or • would like to schedule an appointment: • contact Jolene Perez at x4016 or Karla Izzett at x4007

A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) • Federal law establishes minimum wage, child labor standards, overtime pay and record-keeping which requires the accurate recording of exact hours worked • Exempt and non-exempt (hourly) differences • Non-exempt employees are not allowed to “donate” their time • No overtime / no comp time currently in practice

A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s BENEFIT ENROLLMENT PROCESS • Benefit Information Packets • Must log on to Employee iVisions Portal to enroll • Must complete online new hire enrollment within 31 days of first day of work to have benefits • Medical Allowance: 30 or more hours per week in eligible positions with medical plan election • No medical coverage chosen = No Allowance • School site employees = 20 benefit deductions

A d i s t r i c t o f e x c e l l i n g s c h o o l s • Workers Compensation • If injured on the job: • Immediately notify your Supervisor (required) • Complete two forms: Supervisors’ incident report and Employer’s Report of Industrial Injury forms • Urgent Care –Ahwatukee Urgent Care, Chandler Blvd & 46th St • Emergency use Banner Desert or closest ER facility • ACA time is used until claim is approved for lost time benefits, a portion of ACA may be restored • If you have questions regarding workers compensation please contact the Benefits Department.
