  1. Community Leadership Awards • Provide recognition of the development of skills, knowledge and experience of Cllrs • Suite of 3 ILM endorsed programmes that follow the natural development activities as Cllrs become more established and experienced • Introductory, Practitioner, Advanced • Completion within 12 months of starting • RIEP funded £100.00 per candidate per level which reduces the cost to £175.00 per candidate per level

  2. CPD Programme for Councillors • Series of 6 knowledge based events on a variety of topical issues • Events will run from February 2012 – January 2013 • Based in the region • Give an opportunity to hear from various speakers to understand the latest policy and network with other councillors

  3. CPD Programme Topic Areas • February 2012 – Health Related • April 2012 – Planning Related • Other areas we are considering are: • Community Budgets, Localism, Housing and Benefits, Climate Change • Funding model: • Each authority pays £500.00 for 2 places on each event – 12 places in total equates to £41.66 per person per event

  4. Skills Development Programmes • 6 skills development workshops (half day) to be delivered in each sub region • 6 areas to be identified and agreed by each sub region • Anticipated roll out of workshops is between March 2012 and March 2013 • Programmes are funded
