  2. Genesis • Joe Fletcher, Traffic Signal Systems Manager, identified a need to build a facility to serve the County’s current and future transportation management functions. This vision was pursued by combining different funding sources. • Provide a dedicated resource to replace the existing one-room facility to serve the County’s transportation needs for the next 20 years

  9. Concept Design • On Site of Existing Outdated Building • 24,000 S.F., 3 Story Facility • Basement – Field Operations/Incident Management • First Floor – Operations Room Including 9 Consoles and Support Staff • Second Floor – Support Staff

  16. Contractor Selection Process • Construction Management at Risk • Desirable But Not Allowed Under Current Laws Governing GDOT • Traditional Low Bid • 8 Submitted Bids • Low Bid - $4.4 Mil. – Hogan Construction

  17. Schedule • Demolition Started on June 15, 2009 • Completion Slated for April of 2010 • Building Occupation May 2010
