  3. Biology • Fall Semester: Cell and Molecular Biology • Spring Semester: Environment and the Human Body

  4. Grading • 90% Assessments: Tests, quizzes, Unit tests, Finals 10% Homework, classwork, participation

  5. Retake Policy • Only Unit Tests within 1-2 weeks For those who have 69 and below. Highest retake grade 70% Only once Must be scheduled. Student must come to their scheduled retake.

  6. Absences • Will have to turn in letter from parents or doctor for missed work to be accepted

  7. Late • One week to turn in • No ZERO • 70%, if not turned in after one week-> 0%

  8. Gertz Succeeds • Fridays 3:30-5:30 BUT: • More than 20, others will be re-scheduled • Some students will be scheduled on specific days, which may include Saturday sessions Teleparent- Email or personal call from me.

  9. What parents can do to help students succeed? • Check when the major tests will be. Supervise studying at home. Develop study habits. • Check homework ( whiteboard, bulletin board, website, oral reminders ), deadlines, materials How?: Agenda, advisory teacher, science website • Contact me for any concerns.
