  2. Pentagon: Brain Implant to Aid Memory Problems This drawing depicts an implantable neural device that could record and stimulate neurons within the brain to help restore memory. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is funding development of the device. (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory)

Teams of Scientists… • The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency announced this week that it has contracted with UCLA and the University of Pennsylvania to lead a four-year effort to develop such a device.
