  1. District Positions and Duties Region Training Conference 2019 Name, Position

  2. Officers at the District Level Who serves on the Cali-Nev-Ha District Board? Elected: Executives, Lt. Governors Appointed: Committee Chairs, Editors

  3. Elected District Positions These positions are elected during a division/region conclave or District Convention. Interested in running for Lieutenant Governor? Attend Candidate Training Conference (CTC) Interested in running for a District Executive office? Attend District Candidate Training Conference (DoCTC)

  4. Lieutenant Governor Duties: Send in monthly reports and publications on the 20th of each month Host at least 10 Division Council Meetings Publish at least 10 Newsletters to the district Serve and communicate with the clubs in the division, promoting membership growth Make 2 club visitations to each club Hold Officer Training Conference, Region Training Conference, and Conclave during the term Complete assigned district committee work Attend all board meetings and District Conventions Work with the region team and region advisor(s) The Lt. Governor represents the division, plans the term, delegates, etc.

District Treasurer Duties: Present accurate financial and dues report to the District Board Publish at least 10 monthly Newsletters to District Board and at least 3 Newsletters for treasurers Notify delinquent clubs of their status Send a district convention report within 30 days of District Convention to Kiwanis International Office Attend District Board meetings, District Convention, treasurer’s forum at International Convention Give a treasurer’s report at board meetings The Treasurer keeps track of the finances of the CNH District.

District Secretary Duties: Publish at least 10 monthly Newsletters to District Board and at least 3 Newsletters for secretaries Present a Secretary’s workshop at District Convention Send out District Board meetings minutes to District Board and Kiwanis International Office within 15 days of the meeting Compile a club officer directory Present a Secretary’s report at District Board meetings Attend Secretary’s forum at International Convention, District Convention, and board meetings The Secretary maintains the CNH District records.

  7. District Governor Duties: Create agendas for District Board meetings Publish at least 10 monthly Newsletters to District Board and at least 4 Newsletters for presidents Train and assist the District Board members Appoint Committee Chairs and assist the Committees Attend District Board meetings, District Convention, Governor/Administrator Training Conference, Kiwanis and Circle K conventions Work and communicate with the District Administrator at least 3 times a month Encourage club/membership growth and dues payments Serve on the International Council The Governor oversees the operations of the entire CNH District.

  8. District Appointed Positions These positions are appointed by the District Governor soon after District Convention.

  9. District Committees There are 7 standing District Committees in CNH: Communications and Marketing (CM) District Convention (DCON) Kiwanis Family and Foundation (KFF) Member Recognition (MR) Member Development and Education (MDE) Policy, International Business, and Elections (PIE) Service Projects (SP) Committees are formed from an appointed Committee Chair, elected Lieutenant Governors and (in some cases), appointed District Editors and/or Task Coordinators

  10. District Chair General Duties Send out monthly tasks to a group of Lt. Governors Hold monthly committee teleconferences Work with Executives, District Chairs, District Editors, and Committee Mentors on different tasks Attend all board meetings and District conferences Attend and present at Region Training Conference(s) Work with region team and advisor(s) Each chair has different duties depending on the committee Contact current position holder for more information!

District Committee Chairs Communications and Marketing Handles promotion of CNH Key Club and its organization, provides resources and training materials to members and the District Board alike, attends to the Graphics Department 2019-2020 Chair: Sophia Soriano (cnhkc.cm@gmail.com) All of the District Editors serve on the Communications and Marketing Committee District Convention Plans and oversee the success of the upcoming District Convention, promotes for maximum attendance 2019-2020 Chair: Michelle Le (cnhkc.dcon@gmail.com) Kiwanis Family and Foundation Encourages Kiwanis Family education and relations, the annual CNH Foundation Scholarship, Key Leader Program, promotes PTP 2019/2020 Chair: Janet Teng (cnhkc.kff@gmail.com)

  12. Member Recognition Recognizes members, officers, club, and advisors throughout the term, leads District Judging for District and Int’l contests 2019-2020 Chair: Queenie Lam (cnhkc.mr@gmail.com) Membership Development and Education Educates the members with training material for Training Conference, organizes education sessions during Convention 2019-2020 Chair: Daniel Chong (cnhkc.mde@gmail.com) Policy, International Business, and Elections Updates District Policy Guidebook, shares information from the International level, explains procedure for House of Delegates 2019-2020 Chair: Joyce Wu (cnkc.pie@gmail.com) Service Projects Promotes service with partnerships on the District and International levels, educates about meaningful service through these initiatives 2019-2020 Chair: Melissa Cabana (cnhkc.sp@gmail.com)

District Editors News Editor (DNE) Work with the District Board to create a monthly district newsletter, reviews and provides feedback for club and division newsletters/editors 2019-2020 Editor: Hanah Shih (cnhkc.dne@gmail.com) Tech Editor (DTE) Updates and maintains the CNH CyberKey and social media profiles, promotes and enforces graphic standards, produces training for editors 2019-2020 Editor: Sydney Karimi (cnhkc.dte@gmail.com) Visual Media Editor (DVME) In charge of media production & videography, creates and directs, What’s POPPIN CNH on the CNH Key Club YouTube account Most recent implemented position (as of the 2017-2018 term) First editor: Kelly Tran, Division 30 South 2019-2020 Editor: Derry Chen (cnhkc.dvme@gmail.com)

  14. Board of Trustee Meetings Occurs during District Board Training Conferences: Spring, Summer, Winter, DCON Led by the District Governor Monitored by the Assistant District Administrator Decisions for future of the District are being voted on by YOUR elected Lieutenant Governors All appointed District Chairs, Editors, and Task Coordinators do not have voting rights Delivers progress reports to the Board

  15. How Do I Run? Lt. Governors Attend Candidate Training Conference (RECOMMENDED but NOT REQUIRED) Complete the online registration on the CNH CyberKey Complete and mail the service agreement on time Ask for home club endorsement Endorsements are either UNAMINOUS endorsed or endorsed Create a literature (a resume that includes CNH graphic elements) and submit it to your LTG on time Run at your respective Conclave in January-February

  16. How Do I Run? Executives Attend District Officer Training Conference at the District Office (REQUIRED) Complete and mail the service agreement on time Ask for Division endorsement at Division Conclave (RECOMMENDED) Create a literature, submit to the PIE Chair on time Run at DCON 2019 in Ontario, CA Find more details on cnhkeyclub.org!

  17. How do I Apply? Editors, Chairs, and Task Coordinators: BEE on the lookout! Applications will be released close to District Convention Ask the current position holder for details Submit an application

  19. Rules of Running Make sure you turn in all required material on time, or they will NOT be accepted! NO CAMPAIGNING!!! You may not: - Post on social media about your campaign - Tell others about your campaign (unless running for endorsement at Conclave) - Hint at your plans to campaign Failure to follow these rules WILL result in a hearing and may result in DISQUALIFICATION from the election!
