  2. Student Behaviors • Be prompt • Be in your seat started on your BELLRINGER when the bell rings • Be prepared • Have journals out and start writing bell ringers questions and answers in it! Make sure your name and hour and block is ion your journal! • Be a polite and positive participant • Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen Be productive • Turn in work on time, and always do your best. • Be a problem solver • Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

  3. Show Respect • You are an awesome person and so is everyone else. Let’s be awesome together! • Treat each other and the teacher as YOU would want to be treated • Honor the ideas and opinions of others. • Offer to help. • Be careful with your personal propert • Don’t touch others unless asked.

  4. Responsibility for Coursework • You must bring your journal to class EVERYDAY! • Know due dates, and submit all homework, projects, and assignments on time. • All assignments are posted on the white board and on the class Web site. • You MUST see teacher after you miss school to make up work

  5. Promote Lifelong Learning You can develop lifelong learning skills: • By showing curiosity about human nature and how the world works. • By seeking and valuing diversity. • By continually in seeking out new solutions. • By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change. • By learning and applying technology tools to solve problems.

  6. Policies • Food and beverages are not allowed in the classroom. You may bring bottled water IF you throw away empties and don’t spill! • Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as class begins at that time, and you should be started on your bell ringer. • Major assignments and projects can be resubmitted. They will be scored at a 25% deduction. • Absences • Ask office staff or a classmate first for assignments or look at our website • Tests will be given that you missed THE DAY YOU COME BACK SO BE READY and study your journal at home!

  7. Grading • Grades are based on the accumulation of points. • Points are based on: • Class participation (effort) • Completion of assignments (daily work) • Major projects, exams, and self-reflection • Grades are posted online and updated every Weekend. • Our Grading Scale • 94-100% = A • 88-93% = B • 78-88% = C • 71-77% = D • Below 60% = F • Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.

  8. My Pledge to Students • I will trust you until you give me reason not to • I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. • I will promptly correct and offer you information about how you are doing your work. • I will work with you to meet learning goals. • I will offer extra help and other ways to grade you should you require them.
