There is no calibration required in the principle of harmonization. Standardization, on the other hand, translates into the achievement of comparable results by using a calibration mechanism traceable to a reference measurement procedure. Solomon Park’s reference materials are manufactured from human serum samples drawn from our vast donor database of healthy donors. Because we use human serum to manufacture our calibration and control materials, the instrument will be calibrated 100% because of the nature of the control material in relation to the clinical samples used. Both the calibration and control reference materials are based on pooled human serum that has been extracted from whole blood samples.
