  1. Kip HorstmannLow Fidelity Prototypeu03d2 The following is a sample of one of the modules, and how the screen would look in this program. This is how the instructional designer and multimedia designer would collaborate.

  2. File a Travel Request in the US Army Cadet Command Information System

  3. Purpose • To enable Human Resource Assistants (HRAs) to properly file travel requests within the US Army Cadet Command Information System (CCIMS) • Improperly filed travel requests result in significant delays and monetary loss for travelers during the reimbursement process.

  4. Instructional Strategy • Drill and Practice • Material has already been presented to HRAs in another format • HRAs will be given a variety of different scenarios in which they need to input data correctly in order to make the travel request work • Ideal format for learning to input different types of data into the proper form. • Results will be tracked and reported to supervisors for those who need additional training • Drill and practice: Usually takes place after content has been taught; does not teach new material…..(Fenrich, 2005)

  5. Media Selection • Text—Text will be utilized throughout the presentation for the questions asked and the information provided for the Drill and Practice • The rational for this is that the text is necessary to provide the information and ask the question • Graphics—Actual “fillable” forms, exactly as seen by the HRAs in CCIMS, will be utilized for the exercises. Incorrect entries will not be allowed, forcing the HRA to go back and enter proper information in order to process the request, and progress to the next task. This repetition will aid in retention on the part of the learner. • The rational for this choice is that having the actual forms on the screen in front of the learner will ensure transfer of what is learned to their place of task performance
