  2. Highlights| Forsyth County Schools Grow 35,901 students! Since May of this year, over 1,500 new students have joined one of the 34 schools in the FCS family. This increase in students means that the district has surpassed its enrollment projections for the 2010-11 school year. FCS is the ninth largest school district in Georgia. Highlights| Forsyth County Schools Grow iAchieve Academy Enhance Section 1 FCS' new iAchieve Virtual Academy opened August 30 with 146 students. iAchieve offers students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to engage in a digital learning environment to achieve their individual potential through innovative, flexible, socially connected, and student-focused education.   4. Highlights| Forsyth County Schools Grow SAT Scores Rise! Enhance For the second year, all Forsyth County high schools and the district surpassed Georgia's SAT averages for the 2010 results. Additionally, Forsyth County School's 2010 SAT district average increased eight points in one year to have a collective critical reading, mathematics and writing score of 1571. Click HERE for scores!   5. Highlights| Forsyth County Schools Grow I3 Grant Enhance The U.S. DOE awarded FCS a $4.7 million 2010 Investing in Innovation Fund grant. Nearly 1,700 applications were received; FCS was the only recipient in Georgia and one of only 12 public school districts in top 49.   6. Highlights| Forsyth County Schools Grow 2012 Strategic Plan Enhance FCS has completed one year of the Strategic Plan. Detailed action plans have been developed and the evidence of the district’s work towards achieving the plan’s goals has been collected and communicated. As a component of the plan, student, staff, parent and community Climate Surveys will be conducted late October/early November. Results will be reported in the Spring.   8. Future Funding| Forsyth County Schools SPLOST III All SPLOST and Bond projects have been completed, however SPLOST collections are down 13% and expires June of 2012. FCS is discussing placing the renewal vote on the November 2011 ballot. Continued SPLOST funding would go towards bond debt payments. Click HERE to review collections!
