  2. ABOUT US • Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) is a research based not-for-profit organisation. • IRTE has been dedicatedly working towards scientifically improving all domains of traffic management in which safety is an inherent virtue. • IRTE has been committed to Improving the Traffic Management System.

  3. Road traffic education is important for all road users in all traffic roles. It is not only meant for novice drivers or children but also older drivers, pedestrians, traffic police, etc. It is aimed at providing traffic education in all stages of life and traffic roles. Not many people are aware of the many benefits this training can have in avoiding road accidents. Road traffic education not only enhances the knowledge of a driver but also affects his attitude and behaviour on the road.

  4. Benefits of road traffic education for: 1. Drivers: New drivers, especially young ones, have incredibly high crash rates. Formal instruction, which includes in-class education and in-vehicle training is a great way to address this problem. Apart from road and vehicle education, the training also educates on the behavioural issues on the road. 2. Children: For children, road traffic education is aimed to make them aware and educate them about the traffic rules, when they are on the road. They say, ‘a child who learns about traffic rules and road discipline will grow up to be a law-abiding citizen’.The habit of obeying the traffic rules inculcates a sense of responsibility, empathy and respect for others. Apart from parents, schools play a wider role in educating and informing the students about the importance of road safety.
