Ingredients For the batter For tempering 2 cups rice 1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas) 2½ teaspoon chilli, ginger and garlic paste ¾ cup sour curd 2 cup water 1½ teaspoon fruit salt or ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 2½ teaspoon oil Salt, as per taste ¾ teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon cumin seeds ½ teaspoon hing (asafoetida) 5 to 6 curry leaves livingfoodz.com
