"Gang Crime in New York: A Cinematic Journey Inspired by 'Snatch' and 'The Artist'"

In this film project, I, Heather Butler, will collaborate with Sam Matthews and Tessa Snart to create an engaging opening sequence set in the gritty world of gang crime. Although filmed primarily in Peterborough, our narrative will transport audiences to New York City, echoing elements of Guy Richie’s iconic film "Snatch" and the stylistic charm of the French film "The Artist." By blending these influences, we aim to craft a story that captivates and entertains, highlighting both tension and character depth within the genre of crime films.

  2. For my opening sequence I’ll be working in a group of 3 with Sam Matthews and Tessa Snart.

  3. Genre My genre for my opening is gang crime. I want to set my film in New York, but most of the film will be filmed in Peterborough but still set in New York. My aim is to base my film on a film called ‘Snatch’ and to also use elements from the film ‘The Artist’.
