Clarifying your personal values • Exemplary leaders need an unwavering commitment to a set of values • Exemplary leaders need to know and manifest them • Exemplary Leaders need to theme their values in all their communications • Exemplary leaders need to find “your own true voice” • Exemplary Leaders have values become guides to their actions Module II

  4. Explore your inner territory • Authentic – you cant lead others in principle if they don’t matter to you in the most personal way • “We lead from the essence of who we are as a person” Module II

  5. Build and affirm shared values • What I believe to what we believe • Leaders build on common and shared values • Values are internal compasses Module II

  6. How do we create shared values? • Created by: • Listening • Appreciation • Building consensus • Practicing conflict resolution Module II

  7. Exemplary Leaders lead by Example • Followers watch how they spend their time • Followers watch how they react to critical incidents and turn them into teachable moments • Followers listen to stories they tell – what they are teaching • Followers listen to the language and questions leaders choose Module II
