Understanding Organizational Conflict and Conflict Management Strategies

Organizational conflict, also known as workplace conflict, arises from opposing needs, ideas, beliefs, or goals among groups or individuals within an organization. Conflict is not inherently negative and can be transformed into a positive force for change. The different types of conflict include latent conflict, surface conflict, and open conflict. Conflict can be categorized as intra-individual, interpersonal, intragroup, and intergroup. Various sources of conflict include priorities, culture, values, power, and uncommon goals. Effective conflict management strategies involve staying calm, active listening, and focusing on finding solutions.
