  3. Turtle: Turtles are water- dwellers having lighter shell on their back and flipper like webbed legs to move easily in water. • 2. Tortoise: Tortoise is land- dwellers having elephantine hind legs to push their heavy shelled body on the land. They are heavier and larger than turtles. http://www.tortoise.com

  4. 3. Tortoise and turtle rescue: These slowing moving creatures are the most rescued ones too as there are only less than a million left where there were more than millions. Hence even if you are not interested in adding them to your family, one should know what to do with them if they encounter one in need of help. http://www.tortoise.com

  5. • Selling turtles of less than 4inches in length is illegal in US • • If you find a turtle or tortoise crossing road then pick it up and carefully place it on the other end of the road where it was heading too or else if you place it where it started then it will turn around and try to cross the road again. • • If you witness any cruelty or sick or injured turtle inform your local animal control shelter. http://www.tortoise.com
