C-BAR Discussion May 2014 CPA Requirements Overview: Section formerly known as Chapter Minimum Standards This area is mandatory for all chapters Consists of 16 Questions over 6 sections (focus) • Customer Expectations (2) • Communications (2) • Professional Development Events (1) • Education (2) • APICS Participation (8) • Financial Responsibility (1)

C-BAR Discussion May 2014 C-BAR Submission Overview: This Section is optional, but strongly recommended Consists of 67 Questions over 10 sections • Customer Expectations / Marketing – 55 Points (6 questions) • Communications – 45 Points (5 questions) • Professional Development Events – 40 Points (6 questions) • Education – 60 Points (6 questions) • APICS Participation/External Support – 60 Points (6 questions) • Financial Responsibility – 25 Points (4 questions) • Membership – 35 Points (4 questions) • Chapter Management – 75 Points (9 questions) • Student Chapters/Other Organizations – 100 Points (16 questions) • Narrative & Innovations – 30 Points (5 questions)

C-BAR Discussion May 2014 C-BAR Submission Overview: Documentation Required (If you claim points for these sections, documentation is required) • Marketing Plan (Sub-Sections A-1, I-11, I-12) • Corrective action plan included in narrative for not meeting PDM attendance goal (Sub-Section C-3) • APICS certifications on the chapter website (Sub-Section D-6) • Planned vs. Actual Year-end Budget Report (Sub-Section F-1) • Strategic Plan (Sub-Sections H-1, I-11, I-12) • Chapter Metrics (Sub-Section H-4) • Narrative Document (Sub-Section J, questions 1-4) • Innovations Document (Sub-Section J, question 5)

  7. C-BAR Discussion May 2014 C-BAR Submission Overview: 525 Possible Points • 150 minimum for Bronze Award • 235 minimum for Silver Award • 345 minimum for Gold Award

C-BAR Discussion May 2014 Suggestions for Ongoing Management of C-BAR Bad Idea: Don’t even attempt to fill out Section #2 (C-BAR) Bad Idea: Wait until June to gather information for the submission. Good Idea: Start filling out the form & keeping documentation in August Good Idea: Make monthly inputs to the submission. Bad Idea: Only use C-BAR for the awards. Bad Idea: Assign one person to work independently on C-BAR. Good Idea: Assign each section or question to a board member. Good Idea: Make C-BAR part of Board Member’s Monthly Report
