  2. What Is a MOF Management Review? • Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) management reviews establish critical decision and evaluation points in the service management lifecycle. • Each phase of the lifecycle (Plan, Deliver, Operate, and Manage) has one or more of these reviews. Every phase has different management objectives, so each review involves separate stakeholders, decisions, and contributing data. • The scope of management reviews can be either project-specific or broad. • The project-specific management reviews evaluate “a project.” • The broad-scoped management reviews assess an area such as operations, service alignment, portfolio, or policies and controls.

  3. 6. Tips for Running Management Reviews • Determine your focus – what level in the organization, one service or many? • Agree on a clear, common goal that everyone understands. • Have the right people in the room – consider all impacted stakeholders and be sure all participants are authorized and capable of making the decisions needed. • Send pre-work – send the metrics and questions in advance so participants can prepare. • Have an agenda – be clear about what is and is not on the agenda for that meeting. • Follow up – record any action items with an owner, criteria for completion, and a timeframe. Schedule time to review results of the action items.
