#11EASS01 Student Employment Opportunity (For students with or without Work Study eligibility) The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network is the authoritative seismic network for Washington and Oregon State. Our primary objectives are to determine the magnitude and location of regional earthquakes, maintain 400+ seismic stations in the region and provide quality seismic data to scientists at UW and around the world. The PNSN logs hundreds of hours of annual field work, catalogs thousands of seismic events per year, and hosts conferences for seismologists, engineers, and emergency managers. The PNSN also provides public outreach through our state of the art website and group tours of the seismology lab. • Work opportunities include: • Field work/site repair in urban & mountain settings • Working with Unix/Linux OS • Seismic equipment maintenance • Educational outreach • Web site maintenance • Office management Flexible Hours(10-20/Week) + Potential Summer Employment Beginning Salary ~$10/hr.
