  1. A walk around Newcastle By Darcy Boyd-Horne

  2. Nobbys Beach • The Nobbys Head Lighthouse at Newcastle • The Nobbys Head Lighthouse was established on an island whose future was doubtful right up the period prior to the light's establishment

  3. Newcastle post office • The former Newcastle Post Office is an iconic heritage building which has been identified as playing an important role in achieving the objectives of the Government’s future revitalisation plans for the City of Newcastle, particularly in relation to creating a more active and vibrant city centre. The building is a landmark site both physically and historically and has the potential to become a hub for the Newcastle CBD. • The NSW State Government through the NSW Land and Property Management Authority has purchased the historic former Newcastle Post Office and is committed to redeveloping the site. It is envisaged that ultimately the building will cater for uses that meet the requirements of the City of Newcastle whilst being commercially viable. It is also intended that any re-use plans for the building be focused on attracting more visitors to the inner city area.

  4. City Hall • Opened in 1929, Newcastle City Hall is one of Newcastle's most unique and prestigious venues. Its Old World charm and stunning architecture, including sandstone walls and pillars, marble staircases, clock tower and sweeping ballroom, is reminiscent of a bygone era

  5. Custom House • Customs House, one of Brisbane's heritage icons, is located on the river in the CBD. It is owned and operated by The University of Queensland as a cultural, educational and heritage facility. Behind the grand Corinthian columns you will find exquisite boardrooms, a stunning ballroom, seminar rooms, a licensed restaurant and UQ Information Office.
