  1. How He made us righteous • Why He made us righteous. • He leads us to repentance. • 2. He makes us righteous. • 3. He calls us to service.

  3. God desires for our lives to be instruments of His love and strength for others.

  4. HE wants to bless us as well and HE also wants to bless others through us.

  5. 2 Corinthians 9 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

  6. THE Righteous HANd OF The SERVANT (Saved to love and build 2) James 3:1-12

  7. James 3 1Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

  8. James 3 3When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

  9. James 3 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

  10. James 3 7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

  11. James 3 9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

  12. James 3 11Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

  13. For us to receive God’s blessing and to be a blessing we need to become accountable to Him, accept responsibility, and discipline our lives so that it lines up with His WORD. One important area that need discipline is our tongue.

  14. THE POWER OF THE TONGUE • a fire – James 3:6 • a world of evil – James 3:6 • a restless evil – James 3:8 • a deadly poison – James 3:8

  15. Proverbs 18:21 (Amplified Bible) Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it (for death or life). • Proverbs 18:21 (The Message)Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit—you choose.

  16. Proverbs 18:21 (CEV) • Words can bring death or life! Talk too much, and you will eat everything you say. • “A tongue three inches long can kill a man six feet high.”

  17. 2.THE CONTROL OVER THE TONGUE James 1:26 (NIV) If anyone considers himself religious yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

  18. 2.THE CONTROL OVER THE TONGUE James 1:26 (CEV) If you think you are being religious, but can't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and everything you do is useless.

  19. HOW TO BLESS and BUILD OTHERS with OUR TONGUE: • Determine your heart. • Luke 6:45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart and the evil man brings evil things out of the evils stored up in his heart. For out of his heart his mouth speaks.

  20. HOW TO BLESS and BUILD OTHERS with OUR TONGUE: • Discipline your tongue. • Psalms 141:3Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. • Deliberately choose to yield to the Holy Spirit.

  21. HOW TO BLESS and BUILD OTHERS with OUR TONGUE: • C. Decide to speak forth blessing. • Proverbs 18:21Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit – you choose. • Choose to let only blessing come out of your mouth – speak power, faith, victory.

  22. HOW TO BLESS and BUILD OTHERS with OUR TONGUE: • D. Devoid your lips from murmuring and complaining. • Numbers 11:1Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when He heard them His anger was aroused.

  23. Numbers 11:1bNow Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. • Instead of murmuring and complaining decide to fill our mouth with praise and thanksgiving.

  24. HOW TO BLESS and BUILD OTHERS with OUR TONGUE: • E. Defile not your life with lying and deception. • Proverbs 6:16-17aThere are six things the Lord hates; seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

  25. Proverbs 6:17b-19 hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush to evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

  26. Matthew 12 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

  27. Matthew 12

  28. Matthew 12

  29. Matthew 12

  30. Matthew 12

  31. Ephesians 2 10God made us. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good things. Long ago God prepared them for us to do.

  32. When we are able to: • Determine our hearts. • Discipline our tongues. • Decide to speak forth blessing. • Devoid our lips from murmurs and complains. • Undefile our lives with lies and deception

  33. OUR TONGUES BECOME SANCTIFIED AND CONSECRATED FOR HIS PURPOSE AND GOD CAN BUILD AND BLESS OUR LIVES AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS THROUGH US!

  34. THE righteous hand OF The SERVANT

  35. As I behold YOU I’m changed from glory to glory As I adore YOU My heart falls prostrate before YOU

  36. CHORUS: And I cry HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY HOLY is my GOD and KING

  37. As I extol YOU My faith rises up to acknowledge YOU And as I sing to YOU I’m ushered into YOUR presence

  38. CHORUS: My soul cries HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY HOLY is my GOD and KING
