How ALD Works • 4 chapter meetings a semester • Each member needs 10 community service hours for the entire year. • 5 hours need to be completed for fall semester • 8 out of 10 hours must be fulfilled in Athens county • Hours from other student organizations are allowed • Time sheets are available

  3. Dates for Fall Semester • Parent’s Weekend Bake Sale @ College Gate • Saturday, September 21st (1pm-3pm) • Homecoming Weekend Pie in the Face • Saturday, October 8th (11am-1pm) • OU vs. Miami Football Game @ College Gate • October 26th @ 2:00 pm

  4. Community Service/Fundraising Events • Non Profits Day • Sell OU vs. Miami tickets for $20 each • For every 4 tickets sold, you get 1 community service hour • United Campus Ministry • Saturdays from 11am-3:30pm • Pie in the Face • Volunteer to get “pied” in the face and get 2 community service hour (first come first serve) • Bring in 3 boxes of trash bags, 3 cans of whipped cream, or aluminum pie pans for 1 community service hour

  5. Philanthropy Event • Read Aloud! • An organization dedicated to improving children’s literacy rates in the Appalachian area • What will we do? • Pen pal program with third graders at East Elementary School on East State Street • Write letters to pen pals at every chapter meeting • Final letter will be inside a book purchased for the student

  6. Member of the Month • Nominate someone you think deserves to be member of the month! • Winner gets $5 gift card • Contact eh109111@ohio.edu with applications
