  2. Direct Objects Definición • A direct object tells who or what receives the action of the verb. • Ejemplo • Di el cuadro • I gave the painting • You can find the direct object (D.O.) by asking yourself this question: • What did I give? I gave the painting.

  3. Indirect Objects Definición • An indirect object tells who receives the direct object. It tells “to whom” or “for whom” the action of the verb is done. • Ejemplo • Le di el cuadro a Marco. • I gave the painting to Marco. • You can find the indirect object (I.O.) by asking yourself this question: • To whom did I give the painting? To Marco.

  6. Using Pronouns • Ella le dio el cuadro a Marco • Indirect Object: Marco (masculine singular) • Use: le • Ella le dio el cuadro. • Yo le lancé la pelota a Cecilia. • Indirect Object: Cecilia • Use: le (feminine singular) • Yo le lancé la pelota.

  7. Using Pronouns • You need both the le/les and the indirect object! • Or • You need just the le/les. • Put the le/les before the verb. • Les dimos los boletos a ellos. • Les dimos los boletos.
